Aug 13th-14th , 2004Our trip began in Vietnam. Sights, Sounds, and Smells all combined captured our attention as we adjusted to a totally new environment. The photos below feature some perspectives on what street traffic is like in Ho Chi, as well as some of the cultural aspects of the city. We had a nice clinic in the afternoon at the Conservatory of Music, with the help of Hoang Diep, Head of the Music Performance Center. We were pleased to be joined by Mr. Tuan, a great saxophone player who studied at Berklee School of Music. We felt an immediate musical chemistry with him and invited him to perform with us that night.
Our evening concert at the Conservatory was overflowing with eager listeners, such that we decided to have many join us on stage. Essentially we were surrounded by enthusiastic listeners, and it was a memorable night for all.
