Our first full day in Manila involved a workshop at the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music, and an evening jam session at Merck's Jazz Bar. For this particular workshop, they alloted about 5 hours with the students for us. This gave us the opportunity to work individually with the kids as well. We were very impressed with the talent and enthusiasm for jazz there, and were pleased to hear that they are implementing a jazz program next year.

Our first concert was at the Embassy Ballroom, with the Ambassador in attendance. The next night was performed at Shangri-La EDSA Plaza Mall in one of the new movie theatres. Another great audience.
